To ensure that all customers have fair and equal access to our services, and that such services are used lawfully, responsibly, and in accordance with applicable legislation, InternetTY has established the following Acceptable Use Policy. This policy forms part of your agreement with us and applies to all InternetTY customers and any individuals they authorise to use our services.

By accessing or using the services, you agree not to use them in any way that:

  • Disproportionately exceeds the reasonable and expected use of home broadband or VOIP services, unless you are subscribed to a commercial plan.

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation, including but not limited to the Computer Misuse Act 1990, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

  • Infringes upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other legal rights of individuals or organisations.

  • Involves threatening, harassing, defaming, deceiving, defrauding, humiliating, bullying, or otherwise causing harm or distress to any individual.

  • Collects, stores, publishes, or otherwise processes personal or sensitive information without lawful basis or the data subject’s informed consent, in breach of the Data Protection Act 2018 or UK GDPR.

  • Attempts to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, networks, or data belonging to InternetTY or any third party.

  • Interferes with or disrupts the operation of our services or the use of services by others, including the transmission of malware, spyware, viruses, or any malicious code intended to damage or compromise devices, networks, or software.

  • Circumvents or attempts to bypass any security measures, usage restrictions, or authentication mechanisms deployed by InternetTY.

  • Promotes or facilitates any activity that would constitute a breach of this Acceptable Use Policy or any other contractual obligation with InternetTY.

You are responsible for ensuring that all equipment you use to access the services is adequately protected against malware, unauthorised access, and other security risks. InternetTY accepts no responsibility for any harm resulting from the use of inadequately secured devices or applications.

 

Consequences of Breach

If InternetTY reasonably suspects or confirms a breach of this Acceptable Use Policy, whether by you or by someone using your account, we may take one or more of the following actions at our sole discretion and without prior notice:

  • Investigate the suspected breach.

  • Temporarily suspend your access to the services.

  • Permanently terminate your access and/or your services contract with us.

  • Initiate civil or criminal proceedings, where applicable.

  • Refer the matter to the police or other competent authority for investigation or prosecution.

  • Cooperate fully with lawful requests made under legal process.

We will endeavour to notify you of any alleged breach and request that you take immediate steps to remedy the issue, where appropriate.

If you become aware of any behaviour or activity that you believe may constitute a breach of this Acceptable Use Policy, please contact us using the details available on our website. If reporting by email, please include the subject line "Acceptable Use Policy – Breach Notification" for prompt handling.

 

Policy Updates and Version Control

It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically and to remain informed of any changes. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the most recent version.

This Acceptable Use Policy is subject to regular review and may be amended at any time. The most recent version will always be available on our website.
